Why is this event important to the course of history?
Apartheid is important in the course of history for many reasons. Apartheid changed the course of history, especially in South Africa. In the country, apartheid law stifled the growth and prosperity of millions of Africans by giving them less educational and economic choices.
Its laws that created un-equality and civil unrest in South Africa caused the preventable deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and has attributed to the poverty we see today. Lastly apartheid is important because it is yet another example of human rights abuses giving us examples of things that happened in the past that should never be repeated in the future.
